My husband's EAD was approved last week. I filed both the EADs (for me and him) together in July (Receipt Date: July 30th). My application has no LUD so far. His EAD was approved last week. This is just weird. When both the applications were filed together why look at one and not look at the other?

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?
I also came in 1999. I have lost hope and moved to Canada. Soon it will
10 years since the last EB reform was passed in 2000

noob question: your signature states a PD of 4/04 and EB3.
How can you file your I485 now?
Am i the only one not up to date?
Simple - ROW (aka Rest of World). Different "countries of birth" have different current Priority Dates
You'll notice from the excerpt below that the current (June 07 bulletin) for my particular category is June 05
ROW China India Mexico Philippines
3rd 1JUN05 01JUN03 01JUN03 01JUN03 01JUN05

IV Core. Can something be done to highlight this issue in your conversation with authorities ?
The problem with this argument is it separates the members of the Family. If the marriage is occurred prior to approval of green card spouse will fall in EB category. If the marriage date is after approval of the green card it will fall into Family quota. See those guys who got married after green card and trying to bring their spouses how much trouble they are having. Instead of focusing on that You can Focus on the issue of making one EB visa number per family in case EB immigrant. Now Each one of the Spouse are using one number. That will effectively double the available visa numbers.

...many folks amongst us come to this realization after seeing no signs of the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel, most having spent the better part of their most productive years to complete the immigration process. :)
No, it's not criticism - I'm in the same boat, and the posts where many of us claim to plan to return home/country of origin/somewhere else "IF blah doesn't happen... by blah (insert your time period of choice/tolerance here)" are of high interest to me. It'd be great to be able to compile a list of such posts with original post date, end of tolerance threshold, action taken (if any) after that... and see what we get. :) (Yes, that may be a futile exercise for individuals... but may be of interest to IV as an organization... )
My guess is those who want to move just wake up one fine day, decide they've had enough of it, and follow it up with action (like book tickets, find a job back home, etc... ).
jazz
Restarted the process again in 2006 due to job change.
Two things that help me.
1) Personally meeting lawmakers and making it obvious to them how screwed up their policies are.
2) Being ready to go back. After all, the country where i was born and spent the first 25 yrs of my life cannot be that impossible for me to live in.

Dear friends we are all in this long and arduous journey together! So lets channelize and focus our energies to achieve our goals & not scoring goals / points over each other. Iam new to this forum. I see this as an excellent place to get information and hear different points of view. I highly respect comments / suggestions from other members, I know this journey has taken a toll on everybody, however cheer up and never loose hope, each one of us will have our day, persistence and hard work always pays, merit must rule and may it overrule ! The silver lining is that several people got their GCs this month so lets be happy for them, people are crossing the tunnel and seeing light, so will we one day.

Zeta, congrats on ur successful landing and more so due to non-issues at the US side. I completed my landing in May, 2008 and its been about 4 weeks and my friend in Canada hasn't received the card yet. So, I'd assume its common. Yes, as u r not earning any income, there r no tax filing issues. Have u also applied for a SIN and opened a bank accnt? I've done neither. I just did the landing (was barely for about 30 mins in Canada), took a U-turn and came back to the US :). Unlike u, I used AVR to return back to US.
Yeah, I applied for an SIN card, and received a temp number as well at the same time. I didn't open a bank account however. Hope we receive the PR card soon, then at least the angle to the north is taken care of for the time being.

This is a superb idea. I am game for it. Someone in the DC Area will also need to coordiante press releases to media so there is coverage for this.
Good idea! Anyone living in or near DC willing to take up this job?
Can one of our core members let us know if we can start a separate account for this campaign?
This has to be well planned... all the flowers should reach Emilio's office on the same day!
The media would love to cover this since this is so "out of the way!"
Let us get this moving... the longer we wait the less the effect of this will be! The time to act is NOW!

@desi3933:
On the other hand, I-140 is linked to Permanent Labor Certification (http://www.foreignlaborcert.doleta.gov/perm.cfm) (aka GC labor)
"Permanent Labor Certification" does not mean the job has to be "permanent" (you're again *assuming*, no?) It could also mean LC for "permanent" residency!
Looks like you missed this on that link:
The job opportunity must be for a full time, permanent position.
There must be a bona fide job opening available to U.S. workers.
Job requirements must adhere to what is customarily required for the occupation in the U.S. and may not be tailored to the foreign worker's qualifications. The employer must pay at least the prevailing wage for the occupation in the area of intended employment.
