Please make appropriate changes to the letter stating the we are also the victims of DOL's backlog elimination center and at every stage of this process its taking years to get through. Mail your letter and completed Form 7001 to Ombudsman's office and lets see what they do it about it. Please post any responses you receive from Ombudsman's office.

So the smart senator will force more jobs to be outsourced. These jobs will never comeback once gone. If we look back at the 2000 recession, it caused a major shift in the way US companies looked at outsourcing. Pre-2000 many companies didn't believe that all jobs could be outsourced. 2000 recession forced them to think otherwise.
These kind of bills will cause a re-thinking in corporate america's thought process. They will think of creative ways to outsource. Against this senator's hopes, it will reduce jobs here.

Yesterday I contributed $300 and I hope I do better than that today, but I need help from all those people who have never contributed. So please pull the trigger. I am only one contribution (of $100) away from a first time contributor. As soon as I get that I will post my contribution. As soon as I do that sam2006 is going to make his contribution of $100.
Today I was hoping to exceed my contribution of $300 from yesterday. Looks like it is not goint to happen today. But it will be a bummer if I can't match yesterday's contribution.

IV Core, please help members like us whose applications are pending at the Atlanta PERM Processing Center. In spite of officials informing that they will reassign their staff to process PERM applications a month back, there seems to be no progress so far. Please help us get out of this mess as our applications have been pending at this center for few months now. We would like to take this opportunity to apply for the next two stages while PD are current. By the way, I had an old case at BEC and got an approval. I just changed my job and reapplied through PERM, and then all of a sudden PD became current. I have been in this mess for 5 years now. It was just an unfortunate timing of my job change that screwed me up.
People from Chicago center have been getting quick approvals and are able to submit their I-140 & I-485 documents right away. But just because we live & work in the East coast, we are getting screwed. I don't think this is fair on part of DOL to penalize us because of our location. IV Core, please, help us.
What help can IV provide us with?

It was obvious that King was not in favor of the recapture. The idea of someone applying to adjust status only to enjoy the benefits of EAD/AP is impractical and simply rediculous. In order to file I-485 you need an approved or a pending immigrant petition, and if you have either of the two, then you have a legitimate case that deserves to be adjudicated. Aytes should have clarified this.
Not all congressmen/women are well versed with the details of immigration law, and Mr. King was trying to take advantage of this to influence the outcome of the testimony. He tried again with the new 180 day name check rule, asking Mr. Aytes if the USCIS had ever circumvented security checks to give out green cards. Hopefully, the powers to be will see through these cheap attempts and do the right thing.
I thought the testimony went well:
- It was agreed that visa recapture is a good thing because it will move the cut off dates for India/China in EB by several years (someone from the DOS actaully made this remark during the testimony)
- It was agreed that removal of country cap will help make visa bulletin cut off predictions easier (although the DOS/USCIS may have to make some changes in their process - which was ok)
The discussion is open for 5 legislative days, if someone choses to comment etc. It will be interesting to see what transpires in the next couple of weeks.
- Regarding FB, the senator for Illinois did well to dispel the myth that all kinds of people from all over the world are coming to this country in huge numbers. The fact is most of the new immigrants are immediate family members of american citizens.

I have been contributing 50$ a month so far. I upgraded that to 100$ every month. Please contribute.
Also I was wondering Isn't there a way to upgrade from 50$ to 100$ by changing the amount. I had to sign up for 100$ recurring and cancel the 50$ recurring contribution. Could be just me today :-)

I get a big laugh when I read some of the posts mocking each other...
I have expressed my view/gameplan and even mentioned those who like can take anything out of it...
all those who are asking for donation..would you be happy if I donate a 1000$...why not make IV a paysite :D
Anyone who wants to get in have to pay at the gate :D so much for free-forum
I dont want to list here all the charities and social stuff I do just because a bunch of morons demand donation...hahaha sounds like ganesh festival donation demand :D
just know that we all do stuff in our lives oneway or other to give back to society...
And the losers who could get 15% investment and mock other who got more...please grow up...world is much bigger than your box
