All,
Let us focus on CIR and its aftermath. I understand everyone is frustrated because of the standstill on legal high skilled immigration reform. However, that does not excuse speculation on America's demographics 10 years from now, and gross pejorative generalizations about ethnic groups and nationalities. As Mpkmaster pointed out, no culture is free from deficiencies. I have never been to Mexico but I am sure corruption there can't be worse than corruption in India.
Mpkmaster, there is a specific method to report offensive posts. Please follow it the next time round, as there is no guarantee that grossly offensive posts will be read by the moderators. Thanks for speaking up.
And in response to Jaime, please do not let a few bad posts detract from the rest of the forums. There is a reason that people are frustrated. There is no progress on CIR and our cause is really a political football. We are not powerful enough or large enough in numbers yet for politicians to sit up and take notice of us.

Answer to question 1: Yes you can, but make sure that at least on paper the job responsibilities remain the same as the job for which your present employer sponsored your GC. The designation can be anything.
Answer to question 2: USCIS is not very clear on the percentage increase/decrease in salary that a person should draw in a new job from the job which sponsored the GC. However, it says, that there should not be a huge disparity between the two. Looking at the figures that you provided, it looks like a huge disparity. I am pretty sure that the "bonus" in your first job was not accounted for in the salary which was mentioned in the LC by your sponsor. Even if they did, the difference seems to be huge. If it is possible, ask the BIG employer to offer you the same amount of 65K as salary and the rest as "bonus".

2.Till now my salary is USD 65,000+Bonus.With bonus my salary is in the range of 120K -140K. But now the BIG 5 offers me a salary in the range of USD 180K -200K.
Can I accept the 'offer' based on the above points and use my EAD?
Or is it a violation of AOS rules?
Appreciate if you throw light on this specific case

Sreeanne is correct. We had one friend who died in 9-11 and his wife and kid got visa to stay back for few years until she finished her paperwork. Plan for 2-3 options for your family, and just dont depend on continuing GC.

I applied my EAD renewal on June 19th and AP on August 1st. Both are approved today(august 20th). The Ead status is Card Production ordered.

In the SR, was there any timeframe such as wait for 30/60/90 days?
I sent an email to my congressman immigration staffer on Monday, about my spouse's case ( EB2 I, Dec 2005). Got a snail mail yesterday that they did not get a response and are still waitng for a response. Today, i called their office and they said they got a response and the case is assigned to on officer and wait till September 10th. My wife had spoken to 2 tier support on Auguts 5th who said your case is assigned to an officer and you are pre adjucated. We also got a response to our SR created on August 5th, which says case under review. I guess the wait goes on.

Attach supporting documents. Call the USCIS customer service, they will tell you all the details, including fax number for this.

My attorney sent our apps on June 1st, I do not have receipt # yet. Also I just gave the attorney one payment for the entire app, hence cannot figure out if the checks were cashed or not.

Zeta, congrats on ur successful landing and more so due to non-issues at the US side. I completed my landing in May, 2008 and its been about 4 weeks and my friend in Canada hasn't received the card yet. So, I'd assume its common. Yes, as u r not earning any income, there r no tax filing issues. Have u also applied for a SIN and opened a bank accnt? I've done neither. I just did the landing (was barely for about 30 mins in Canada), took a U-turn and came back to the US :). Unlike u, I used AVR to return back to US.
Yeah, I applied for an SIN card, and received a temp number as well at the same time. I didn't open a bank account however. Hope we receive the PR card soon, then at least the angle to the north is taken care of for the time being.

Did any body received the card or case status changed to Card production ordered apart from GCEB2?
It seems there is progress only for GCEB2 for the gys who got the approval notice in August.

May be not true, my case assgined to officer on june 29th and no news yet. But I wish Ski_dude12 good luck.
I was told by IO at info pass that my case was with an officer on Aug 05 , got CPO on 25

They are not going to do what you tell them, 5 year is just an example, people are waiting for 9 years. I say 5 becaue even ROW is 2 year back, so asking 2 would be like take it off...
